Our Target audience for our adaptation of Rapunzel is for young teens to young adults. We chose a story that is most likely to be listened to by this age group as it has a story line that will interest them. The age group they belong too is about 13 to 24 years of age. The story i feel links to the Target audience well because it is about a teenager rebelling and it ending up badly with the "parent". This links to the teenage Target audience.

The fist edition contained 86 fairytales and by 1857 it had 211 unique fairytales. The fairytales were very popular with children and became entertainment and also helping children to learn to read. The Grimm brothers came from a large family with 9 children in total they initially started writing to keep there siblings occupied, but this hobby turned into something a lot bigger. The theme of Grimm's fairy tale is a recurring theme of a dark version of an original fairy tale. The theme that we chose for our adaptation of Rapunzel was a theme of the poor and a theme of greed. The reason for this was because these to themes fit really well into the adaptation of Rapunzel. The original Rapunzel was published 1812. We chose Rapunzel because we wanted to do a fairy tale that we could easily adapt a bad ending too. Another reason we chose Rapunzel was because we had the most ideas to adapt to this story.
What is it about? Why we chose Rapunzel? We chose between Rapunzel and The princess and the frog for this project the reason we chose Rapunzel was because we thought we could get some good sounds out of it. An example would be the hair falling down the side of the tower. For Rapunzel there is a range of different sound opportunities such as Music and Foley sound. Sounds we want to use in our version of Rapunzel: Chimes to show the hair falling down Clock tower (as it is set in a clock tower) Birds chirping Knocking on doors Steps to show walking Gloomy and Happy music How we are going to achieve these sounds?
We are going to achieve these sounds by using Foley. And we are going to use some free music from youtube studio so it isn't copyrighted to show the emotion of the story. Audio drama: An Audio drama is a piece of audio recored with dialogue and sounds in the background to tell a story, poem, script etc. In other words it is a purely acoustic performance. A radio drama all depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener to imagine what the story is about. Some people listen to radio drama to expand their creative minds as it helps you to imagine that the story and widens your mind to more creative capabilities. There are tonnes of radio dramas out with different story's and are all about different things. One thing that blends in with a radio drama really well is a Grimm's fairytale.
